Real Preserved Butterfly Pendant Necklace on Bronze Chain

Butterflies have always held a special place for me, as I consider them somewhat spiritual and I associate them with my late grandmother. I have always found it interesting how we often view them as our passed on relatives, and I have always loved the associate with the butterfly and transformation.

This butterfly reminded me of one of those antique frames from the 60s and 70s with the pressed butterflies and flowers. However, after careful preservation, I felt it needed a more unique place in this world: as a piece of wearable art.

The butterfly lives a very short life, so to me, encapsulating it in resin seemed somewhat like the obvious choice. This piece is a real butterfly, carefully preserved and then tediously coated in high quality, crystal clear resin. I then placed it on a bronze chain, to even further the antique appeal.
